Faith Tech Bible School
Tanzania 2009

Tanzania

Evening class

Faith Tech Ministries opened another East African Bible School in Dar Es Salaam in March of 2009.  This would be the first school to utilize a new condensed set of teaching outlines allowing nine subjects to be taught in only six weeks.  Wendy and I would teach Word, Faith, Cross.  Tim and Pauline would teach Advanced Cross, Healing, and Holy Spirit, and Josh and Aaron would teach End Times, Revelation, and Counseling.  It was a very ambitious plan, but the grace of God was working mightily fitting all of us for the task.

As we learned that Elizabeth’s heart was to come, we were determined to trust the Lord for the extra finances required, and that decision proved to be very important and Spirit-led.  Many of our women students (and also the men) testified that their thinking was altered in regard to how God uses women in ministry.  “We see that Elizabeth is being trained by her mother and father to continue in their footsteps.”  Amen. We pray that both our children will be used by God to preach and teach the gospel wherever He may call them to go.

Our host, Pastor Elias, met us at the airport with his family and escorted us to the Msimbazi Christian Centre guesthouse.  We remain so appreciative of the treatment we received from our Tanzanian brothers and sisters in Christ.  Our host pastor, his wife, church, and all the students showed us abundant kindness and hospitality.  We love them all dearly.

Morning class

God gave us a most wonderful translator in Sister Grace. She had lived in the United States for some time and spoke perfect American English (an oxy-moron?).  Not only that, but we found Grace to be born-again, Spirit-filled, and extremely intelligent.  She was a true blessing from the Lord.  Grace gladly received all the teachings and was a great help in persuading the students of the truth.  We understand that she and other graduates are continuing with their own teaching ministries in Dar Es Salaam.

Dar Es Salaam is a beautiful sea port town in Tanzania.  Wendy, Elizabeth, and I enjoyed some rest and relaxation downtown at the botanical gardens, the coast, the museum, and few fast food restaurants.  The evenings at the Msimbazi Christian Centre guesthouse were very pleasant.  We spent many nights taking pictures of the stars and admiring the work of God’s hands.

What a wonderful time we had teaching the word of God in Dar Es Salaam!  We love our students and graduates so much.  Lord bless them all as they continue to contend for the faith in Tanzania, East Africa, and beyond.
